two and fives (pt.II)

I once came across a waiting room,
Empty.
Except for me.

I waited to be called,
from someone behind the closed door.
Someone who I longed to be with.

I sat and waited patiently,
as others walked in
and were called before me.

I thought it was unfair,
but once in a while,
the person behind those four walls,
came out and sat with me.

It all took five seconds,
and two pair of eyes,
to know that this was what we wanted.

Yet, I was never welcomed,
nor told to find another waiting room.

Eventually, the waiting room became mine.
I stayed, hoping to be called,
to finally see what lies behind that door.

But time is a thief,
It grew short.
Being caged in the fenceless room,
began to feel like torture.

So I stood up straight and walked away,
taking my time, step by step, heading toward the exit.

It all took five steps and two seconds to finally reach the end,
but if the person were to call me back,
I'd return in a heartbeat.

Love, Juita.
